SOP 097: Verifying ownership of your domain in Meta Business Suite
Update necessary for iOS 14. Follow a simple method to verify ownership of a domain so you can keep running ads smoothly.

🚀 Goal: Verifying your domain in Meta Business Suite.
🤞 Ideal Outcome: Meta is able to correctly verify ownership of your site.
🤔 Why this is important: With the introduction of Apple's iOS 14, Meta implemented Aggregated Event Measurement, limiting advertisers to 8 conversion events per domain. Verifying your domain is a prerequisite to configure and prioritize these events, ensuring your ads are optimized effectively.

__⚠️Prerequisites or requirements: __You should have created a Meta Business Suite account for your site (you can follow SOP 010 (web version) to learn how to do that). Plus, you’ll need to have access to your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Google Domains, Dreamhost, Siteground, Cloudflare, etc)

Add your domain to Meta Business Suite
01▸ Go to your Meta Business Suite dashboard and click on the account you want to work on.
02▸ Click on the gear icon or "Settings" > Under “Brand Safety”, click “Domains”. If this is your first time verifying a domain for this account, you’ll need to click "+ Add" the domain.
03▸ Next, click “ Create a domain” to add a new domain to this business account.
04▸ Key in the URL and click "Add". You will now be led to a page to verify your domain.
DNS verification
01▸ On your domain page, select "Update the DNS TXT record with your domain registrar" as the method to verify your domain. Copy the TXT verification record provided by Meta.
02▸ Now, go to your domain registrar dashboard or admin panel. In some registrars, this is under a “Domains” or “Manage domains” menu or link.

03▸ Next, create a new custom record. This will look slightly different depending on your registrar, but these are the general steps.
Leave the “Name” field blank
Select a TXT record “Type”
Leave the default “TTL” value
Under “Value” paste the record you copied from Meta Ads

04▸ Once you’ve added your record, go back to Meta Business Suite and click “verify domain”.
Note: DNS records can take up to 48-72 hours to propagate. Don’t worry if Meta can’t verify your domain right away. Come back a day later and try hitting the “verify domain” button again.
After the DNS changes have propagated, you’ll receive a confirmation after clicking “Verify”
