SOP 010: Set up a Meta Ads Account
Create a Business Manager account and Facebook Ad Account for your business, to start managing all your Facebook Assets and sharing them with your employees securely.

🚀 Goal: To create a Meta Business Manager Suite and Meta ad account for your business.
🤞 Ideal Outcome: You will have a Meta Business Suite account ready to manage all your Meta assets and share them with your employees securely. You will have created your Meta ad account and set your Payment Method.
🤔 Why this is important: Meta Business Suite allows you to efficiently manage multiple pages and ad accounts, while securely assigning roles to employees or contractors. With your Meta Ads account, you can launch targeted campaigns to reach a global audience—part of the over 3 billion active users across Facebook and Instagram in 2025.

👨 Who does this: The business owner or the person responsible for paid advertising on his behalf.
__⚠️Prerequisites or requirements: __You will need a personal Meta account, including Facebook and Instagram.

Create a Meta Business Suite account
01▸ Go to https://business.facebook.com in your browser.
02▸ Click “Create new account” on your right.
03▸ You must log in if you have not logged in to your personal Meta or Facebook account. Sign up with a new Facebook account if you do not have an account yet.
04▸ Enter your business name, your name, business phone number, address, and work email address. Click "Next".
05▸ Review your settings and confirm your account.
06▸ Check your email for the confirmation of account creation.
07▸ In the email, click "Confirm now".
08▸ Your Meta Business Suite is now created! After confirmation, you will be taken to your Meta Business Suite account. That's it!
Create a Meta ad account on Meta Business Suite
01▸ On your Meta Business Suite homepage, click on “Settings” or the gear icon > “Ad accounts” > "+Add".
02▸ Next, click “Create a new ad account”.
03▸ Insert the details for your new ad account and click "Next".
Note: Pay attention to the currency you want to be used for your account, as you cannot edit this in the future. You can always create a new ad account if you want to do so.
04▸ Select whether you are creating this ad account for your business or to advertise on behalf of another business and click "Next".
05▸ Next, tick on the box below to agree to Meta's terms of service and advertising policies. Click "Create ad account". Those who have full access to this business portfolio will also be able to manage the ad account.
06▸ Your ad account has been created! If you don’t have a payment method set up, you will want to do it now. Click on “Add payment info”.
07▸ Make sure your "Location and Currency" is correct. Select your preferred time zone, then click on "Next".
08▸ You can choose to fill up your tax details (optional). Select your preferred payment method, and then click on "Next."
09▸ After successfully adding your payment details, you can now input your business address details. Click "Save".
Checking your Meta payment settings
01▸ Go to your Meta ad account settings and click on "Settings” > "Billing & payment". This will lead you to a new tab on your browser.
02▸ Next, click on “Payment methods”. Check if the payment method is showing the correct details. If it is blank, you may have to add it again by clicking on the “Add" button.
03▸ That's it! If you now go to your Meta Business Suite homepage, you should now be able to see your new Meta ad account.
Share access with other people
To grant Meta Business Suite access to agency, contractor, or employees so they can help manage your Facebook or Instagram page or ads, you can use SOP 062 (web version).
