If you don’t have one yet (or have not heard of Business Manager), you can follow the “Create a Meta Business Suite Account” chapter of SOP 010 ([web version](https://members.clickminded.com/sop/010/));\r\n\r\n• This guide will also need your Facebook page and Ads Manager to be managed by a Meta Business Suite account, NOT from a personal account. If you haven’t done so, please refer to SOP 114 ([web version](https://members.clickminded.com/sop/114/)) to migrate Meta Assets from personal to Meta Business Suite.\r\n\r\n[__Click here to get the most up-to-date version of this SOP__](https://members.clickminded.com/sop/062)\r\n\r\n## Migrating Facebook Page and Ads Manager from a personal account to Business Manager\r\n\r\nIf you are not currently using Meta Business Suite to manage your Facebook page and Ads Manager, you will need to complete this step. If you’ve already done this, you can skip to the next step.\r\n\r\nWe recommend always using Meta Business Suite to manage your Facebook assets regardless of whether you’re an agency managing campaigns for clients or companies granting access to employees or agencies.\r\n\r\nIf you don’t have a Meta Business Suite account yet, you can follow the “Create a Meta Business Suite Account” chapter of SOP 010 ([web version](https://members.clickminded.com/sop/010/)).\r\n\r\nThis chapter of the SOP will walk you through the steps to claim access to assets outside of Meta Business Suite (i.e., with a personal Facebook account).\r\n\r\n__Important:__ You should claim the Facebook page and Ads Manager if you are the __owner__ (with admin access). Do not claim those assets if you are an agency, freelancer, or employee working on another company/person’s assets (Pages, Ad Accounts, etc.). Instead, you can simply be assigned the role that you need by following the next chapters of this SOP.\r\n\r\n- __Access required:__ Admin level\r\n- __Typical scenario:__ In the early stages of your business, you or an employee created an Ad Account using a personal profile. Your business should now use Meta Business Suite to manage your assets. It will also allow you to easily control, grant, and revoke access to your assets to your employees or when working with freelancers, agencies, or consultants.\r\n- __Who performs this action:__ The Admin of the Business Manager account who wants to claim the assets. (This could be the business owner, a CEO, or other stable members of the organization)\r\n\r\n__Migrating your Facebook Page to your Meta Business Suite__\r\n\r\n### 01▸ Log in to your Meta Business Suite account [here.](https://business.facebook.com/)\r\n\r\n### 02▸ On the sidebar, click on the gear icon or “Settings” → “Pages” under Accounts→ “+Add”.\r\n\r\n### 03▸ Select \"Add an existing Facebook Page\".\r\n\r\n### 04▸ Search for your page’s name or paste your page URL → Click “Next”. If the Facebook page is connected to Instagram (this is recommended), you must add both together.\r\n\r\n### 05▸ Confirm who has full access before clicking \"Next\" to proceed.\r\n\r\n### 06▸ Finally, tick the box below to agree to Meta's policies and terms related to your business portfolio and click \"Add Page and Instagram\". You will be asked to log in to the business's Instagram account.\r\n\r\n### 07▸ That’s it! You’ve added your Facebook/Instagram page to your Meta Business Suite. Your request is immediately approved if you are already an Admin of the page.\r\n\r\n__Migrating Ad Accounts to your Meta Business Suite.__\r\n\r\n### 08▸ Log in to your Meta Business Suite account [here.](https://business.facebook.com/)\r\n\r\n### 09▸ On the sidebar, click on the gear icon or \"Settings\"→ “Ad Accounts” under Accounts → “+ Add”.\r\n\r\n### 10▸ Select \"Add an existing ad account\".\r\n\r\n### 11▸ Next, you’ll find a field prompting you to enter your “Ad account ID”.\r\n\r\n### 12▸ You can find your Ad account ID by opening “[Ads Manager](https://www.facebook.com/adsmanager/manage/)” and clicking on the top-left dropdown. Copy that Ad account ID over to that field and click “Next”.\r\n\r\n### 13▸ Confirm the Ad account ID and tick the box below to agree to Meta's terms and policies. Click \"Add ad account\".\r\n\r\n### 14▸ That’s it! Click \"Done\", and you’ve claimed your Ad Account. Note that once it is claimed, you cannot remove the ad account from the business portfolio.\r\n\r\n## Jump to the section of this SOP that fits your needs\r\n\r\n__I’m the owner of the assets and want to assign them to a third party.__\r\n\r\n- My freelancer or agency told me they’re using Meta Business Suite as well. *(Please go to \"Granting Meta Business Suite access to an agency or contractor\")*\r\n- My freelancer or agency told me they’re not using Meta Business Suite, and it’s the first time you’re working with them. *(Please go to \"Granting Meta Business Suite access to a personal account\")*\r\n\r\n__I’m the owner of the assets and want to assign them to an employee.__\r\n\r\n- It’s the first time you’re working with that employee. *(Please go to \"Granting Meta Business Suite access to a personal account\")*\r\n\r\n## Granting Meta Business Suite access to an agency or contractor\r\n\r\n__Note:__ Granting Meta Business Suite access to a third-party agency does NOT transfer ownership to them, and this step only permits them to help you manage Pages or ads.\r\n\r\n- __Access required:__ Multiple\r\n- __Typical scenario:__ An agency starts working with a client for the first time and needs access to (client’s) Meta Business Suite account.\r\n- __Inputs needed:__ Your agency or contractor should provide you with their Meta Business ID.\r\n\r\n### 01▸ Head to your Meta Business Suite account [here](https://business.facebook.com/). If you have several accounts, select the relevant one.\r\n\r\n### 02▸ Click on the gear icon → “Partners” under Users → “Add”.\r\n\r\n### 03▸ Select \"Give a partner access to your assets\".\r\n\r\n\r\n### 04▸ Enter your partner’s business ID (your partner needs to provide you with this) → “Next”.\r\n\r\n### 05▸ Next, go to \"Settings\" → \"Ad accounts\" under Accounts → \"Assign partner\".\r\n\r\n### 06▸ Enter the partner's business ID again and toggle on \"Full control\" of the ad account. Click \"Assign\" to proceed.\r\n\r\n### 07▸ That’s it! You’ve successfully given access to your assets to your partner’s Meta Business Suite account, who can now assign the same permissions that you’ve set to other team members.\r\n\r\n## Granting Meta Business Suite access to a personal account\r\n\r\n- __Access required:__ Admin\r\n- __Typical scenario:__ An agency assigns ad accounts and pages to their employees so that they can work on them. A business owner/team leader assigns ad accounts to a team member.\r\n- __Who performs this action:__ The Business owner or account manager who wants to share access to their Business Manager’s assets.\r\n\r\n### 01▸ Head to your Meta Business Suite account [here](https://business.facebook.com/). If you have several accounts, select the relevant one.\r\n\r\n### 02▸ Click on the gear icon or \"Settings\" → \"People\" under Users → “Invite people”.\r\n\r\n### 03▸ Enter the email address of the person to whom you want to give access (ideally, their work email; it doesn’t need to be the email associated with their personal Facebook account). Make sure you are assigning the right roles, and click “Next”. Toggle on \"Temporary access\" if required.\r\n\r\n### 04▸ Next, assign access, either partially or full control.  If you would like the person to manage financial information, click \"View advanced options\" and click “Next”.\r\n\r\n  \r\n\r\n### 05▸ Next, assign all assets and set assigned permissions, either partially or full control. Click \"Next\" to proceed.\r\n\r\n### 06▸ Finally, review the invitation before clicking \"Send Invitation\".\r\n\r\n### 07▸ That’s it! Your employee will receive a confirmation email that they can use to connect their own account. You might want to send your employee the instructions below.\r\n\r\n## Employee’s Instructions\r\n\r\n### 01▸ Your employee will receive an email containing the confirmation link a few minutes after you’ve sent the invite.\r\n\r\n### 02▸ Open the email → Click “Get Started”.\r\n\r\n### 03▸ Add your name and click “Continue”.\r\n\r\n\r\n### 04▸ Log in to your personal Facebook account, and that’s it!
